Thinking of going camping close to home but not sure where to go? I’ve got just the spot for you!
Swan Reach is an hour and 9 minutes from Murray Bridge. Follow the Murray River to find the most quiet and calming places that are just around the corner. You can either take the route that passes through Mannum, or, you can take the faster route from Murray Bridge that goes through Younghusband.
Once you’re at Swan Reach, head across the ferry and take your first right turn.
You will probably see a few RV’s and caravans. This camping spot is super easy to get to and the best part is that it’s 2wd accessible! It is right alongside the Murray River, a few convenience stores nearby if you forget the essentials and a popular pub directly across the river from the campsite!
Dogs are allowed within the camping ground, there is disabled toilets readily available and it is so family friendly.
The best part about how easily accessible and practical this park is, is that it’s entirely free to camp! How convenient?!
The campsite says that it fits 50 campers in just this one spot and I can say from personal experience it is very spacious and worth while! Waking up on the Murray River is the perfect way to start any day.
Overall I rate this camping spot a 4 out of 5 stars.
On the way home be sure to head over to Bakara and check out the old Bakara Well. Here’s how to get to Bakara Well from Swan Reach:
Bakara Well is all 2WD accessible too!
This blog post is something different to my usual thinking, but it’s what others are most interested in and something others find helpful and that is what I’m all about.
I’d like to personally thank Nasanya Ling for your constant support and motivation. You are such a loving soul. Thank you.
